Двухлетней давности «Адреналин. Экстрим-шоу» не мог составить конкуренцию зарубежным гоночным грандам, но успешно компенсировал шероховатости нетрадиционным подходом к жанру. Игра брала не красивой картинкой или выверенным геймплеем, а полуобнаженными женскими формами, необычной шоу-эстетикой и нездоровым юмором в исполнении Бачинского и Стиллавина.
В продолжении, как нам кажется, следовало развить старые идеи, починить все, что плохо работало, и продолжать осваивать незанятую нишу. Но Gaijin Entertainment рассудили по-другому и пообещали в сиквеле воссоздать настоящую трехмерную Москву — с плотным трафиком, прохожими, милиционерами, сменой времени суток и, конечно, уличными гонщиками.
Лавировать в плотном потоке трафика — единственное интересное занятие в игре.
Получившийся в результате «Адреналин 2: Час пик», к сожалению, оказался бесконечно далек от нынешних стандартов качества. Ну, во-первых, графика. При первом запуске избалованные игроки (например, только что пересевшие с Test Drive Unlimited) рискуют получить культурный шок. По меркам 2007 года игра выглядит просто безобразно. Неплохо на общем фоне смотрятся только эффекты дождя, особенно капли на корпусе машины. Все остальное можно оценить исключительно в диапазоне от «сносно» до «дешево» и «кошмарно».
Во-вторых, пресловутый трафик. Самый главный враг игрока — отнюдь не соперники или агрессивные инспекторы ДПС, а столичные водители на «Жигулях». Вихляние в плотном потоке трафика — пожалуй, самое лучшее, что вообще может предложить «Адреналин 2». Пробки можно таранить на манер Burnout Revenge, устраивая тем самым массовые аварии. Проблема состоит в том, что вышеупомянутым ДТП отчаянно недостает зрелищности и режиссуры. Есть, разумеется, slo-mo, но рассмотреть последствия столкновения из-за неумело наложенных спецэффектов почти невозможно.
Кроме упомянутых уже оленьих рогов тюнинг также позволяет водрузить на капот череп с костями.
Все, что остается в сухом остатке, — неизвестно зачем нужная свобода перемещений и вроде бы открытый геймплей. Ориентироваться предстоит по мини-карте, где традиционно указанны места сбора стритрейсеров, автосалоны и гаражи. По ходу прохождения придется поучаствовать в различных видах гонок (кольцевые, по чекпойнтам, драг и выполнение трюков). Присутствуют как сюжетно важные события, так и побочные, целью которых является заработок денег и репутации. То есть победа над какой-нибудь местной рейсинг-звездой гарантирует приглашение поучаствовать в ограблении банка. Если вы вдруг представили себе кинематографичную погоню со стрельбой в духе Driver, забудьте — таким образом Gaijin довольно неумело маскируют обычный тайм-триал. То есть вам просто предложат проехаться из одной точки в другую за ограниченное время.
Сама рейсинг-механика содержит удачные находки вроде адреналин-девайсов, которые позволяют творить беспредел на дорогах с утроенной силой и скоростью. Но весь азарт подчистую улетучится, стоит только отключить или просто уменьшить уличное движение. Сделать это наверняка захочется, так как с плотным трафиком очень сложно ездить. И не только из-за «Жигулей», а ввиду крайне плохой оптимизации. Даже на мощных компьютерах в моменты массовых аварий игра регулярно превращается в слайд-шоу.
Отключенный трафик выводит на чистую воду другие недостатки: неадекватных AI-соперников (которых еще и очень мало) и неудачную планировку трасс. Последние в основном состоят из длинных и широких проспектов. В этих условиях, честно говоря, не очень понятно, к чему было городить целый виртуальный город? Тут можно прекрасно ограничиться отдельными заранее проложенными маршрутами, оставив на месте интенсивный трафик, но проявив больше фантазии в дизайне.
Машины можно покупать и апгрейдить, но если в коллекционировании клонов известных суперкаров еще есть какой-то смысл, то вот в гараже делать толком нечего. Разве что водрузить на крышу или капот сверкающей машины оленьи рога (!). * * *
Никакое высокобюджетное радио с собственными диджеями и лицензированный саундтрек (некоторые артисты представлены 10-15 треками) ситуацию не спасают. Непритязательная и обаятельная аркада ко второй части прогнулась под грузом собственных амбиций. Это шаблонный, скучный и довольно неумелый стритрейсинг, у которого есть сотни более качественных альтернатив. Авторы не отрабатывают обязательную жанровую программу, но замахиваются на масштаб, который не под силу куда более опытным разработчикам. Попробовать можно, только если очень хочется посмотреть на правдоподобную виртуальную Москву. Но мы, если что, предупреждали.
